Tour of Qatar – dame

Prva međunardna trka za žene u ovoj sezoni – Tour of Qatar – sastojala se od 3 etape:
1.etapa 97 km,
2. etapa 114.5 km
3. etapa 92.5 km
(ukupno 304 km)
Trka za dame vožena je neposredno pre muške trke. Ravnica, prava ruta kroz pustinju sa ludačkim vetrom koji nanosi pesak, to je ukratko opis uslova sa kojim su se borile junakinje drumova na prvom izdanju.
Prva etapa
“Čim smo izašle iz automobile, osetila smo pesak među zubima”, rekla je Judith Arndt, nemačka biciklistinja koja vozi za australijski GreenEdge. Za ovu etapu je bilo karakteristično to što je popularni Peloton na cilj došao 13 minuta posle prve grupe.

Druga etapa
Na 80. kilometru 40 biciklistkinja vodilo je grupu. Na 20km do cilja odvojile su se Arndt, Wild, Worrack i Adrie Visser, što nas i ne čudi jer su Wild i Visser sprinterke a Arndt i Worrack uspešne u TT-u. U sprintu se dogodila jedna neobična nezgoda i to svetskoj šampionki Đorđi Broncini.
